Awards and accolades for Circus of the Dead include: WINNER Best Feature at Housecore Film Festival (Phil Anselmo from Pantera’s fest), Phoenix Fearcon, Tucson Terrorfest, Scream in the Dark Film Festival, Chicago Horror Film Festival, WINNER Award Extreme at Feratum International Film Festival, WINNER Audience Choice at Twisted Tales Film Festival, Sadique-Master in Paris, France, WINNER Most Shocking Fright Night Theater Film Festival, WINNER Best Monster Horror Feature Film at Fear Fete Film Festival, WINNER Directors Choice Award at Chicago Horror Film Festival, WINNER Best Special FX Chicago Horror Film Festival, WINNER Best Actor for Housecore Horror Film Festival, Tucson Terrorfest, Twisted Tales Film Festival, Fright night Theater Film Festival, Chicago Horror Film Festival, Fear Fete Film Festival.
In 2020, DREAD re-released Circus of the Dead on Blu-ray, making it available to new fans worldwide. Today, you can stream Circus of the Dead for free on Tubi and Amazon Prime!
Joshua Millican is set to write the novelization. “Obviously, I feel deeply connected to this film, having played a part in bringing it to physical media and streaming services. Billy Pon is an unflinching filmmaker, and I can’t wait to flesh out his sinister screenplay. Papa Corn is one crazy mother…”
In Circus of the Dead: A sadistic group of clowns kidnap an unsuspecting man and his daughters, forcing him to play a deadly game in order to save his family.
Trailer:
Pon directed Circus of the Dead from a screenplay co-scribed by Lee Ankrum. The film stars Parrish Randall, Chanel Ryan, and Bill Oberst Jr. as the notorious psycho clown Papa Corn.
“Am I excited about this novelization? Big time!” says Pon. “There was so much left out of the movie, extreme content wise or for time. The script called for a two hour twenty minute film. We made an hour and forty five minute version. Papa Corn’s inner dialogue alone is gonna take the novelization to places way further than the film could! Josh is the perfect person to tackle this task. I’ve been a fan of his since day one and he’s championed the film from the very beginning and is very excited to enter the big top!”
NEW RELEASES
In Print
Mike Watt’s debut novel, Hot Splices: The Author’s Cut is now available whereever books are sold! Hot Splices was previously published under Watt’s imprint publishing company and he brought it to us as an “Author’s Cut” complete with new scenes and stories previously unpublished. We are very excited people will have a chance to rediscover this ambitiously creative work.
HOT SPLICES features eight interwoven tales about the Film Addicts, the flicker freaks, the Cinephages - they devour film for the high, to connect to the art on the granular level...the bleeding perforations in their skin is just part of the game.
There are five forbidden films, when run together, can induce madness, or release the Dark Gods that created them, speaking through the psychopathic director.
There is a man on the run, with a lost movie that others would kill to obtain. He barely escaped with his life.
There is a tower, once housing for students, now a crumbling, rotting monument to film history, and the men and women who returned to the tower, to die watching their favorite films.
Beneath the tower, there lies something made of light and shadow. It does not love its worshipers...
If you do not love film... If you do not wish to devour it as it devours you... If all you seek from film is entertainment... ...This is not the book for you. From filmmaker Mike Watt, author of "Phobophobia" and "Suicide Machine", director of "Razor Days" and "A Feast of Flesh", comes a brand new collection of horror fiction. You'll never watch a movie again without also feeling like you're being watched.
