Encyclopocalypse Dispatch #25
Phantom Limbs, Out Now! SRS Cinema Collection Unleashed! Get Ready For Summer of Sidaris in 2025!
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter Weekend! As with most publishers, I spent the weekend closing out Quarter One of 2024 so we could send out royalties to all of our amazing authors, narrators, and rights holders. I’m not complaining. I love this stuff. It’s rewarding to see our hard work paying off, great books being purchased by awesome people such as you, dear reader, and seeing our little scrappy publishing company continue to grow.
In fact, many indie publishers don’t make it past the three year mark. We continue to grow and shift with the ever changing publishing world, and have made it a point that no matter what, everyone relying on us for royalties gets paid every quarter. It’s incredibly satisfying to be able to do so.
We’re also finally getting projects into the pipeline that won’t be released until 2025/2026. This takes a lot of planning, patience, and communication. Look at us, almost behaving like a REAL publisher. ;-)
Most importantly, we wouldn’t be here if no one read any of our books. Our lifeline is readers like you who love what we’re putting out into the world. I’m always grateful for every order that comes in via our website and every book sale that happens everywhere else, and every book that’s checked out of a local library. We are here because of you, and our appreciation knows no bounds.
Welcome to the Encyclopocalypse Dispatch.
NEW RELEASES
Phantom Limbs: Dissecting Horror’s Lost Sequels and Remakes
By Jason Jenkins
US: Paperback/Hardcover | eBook
International: Paperback | Hardcover | eBook
Over the weekend, Del and Sue of Dark Delicacies in Burbank, CA held a book release signing event for Jason Jenkins’ new book, Phantom Limbs. As with all of Dark Del’s events, this was a special one. All filmmakers and screenwriters who were local and featured in the book turned out for the event, making themselves available to sign every book that came through. Nick Principe even made a drive up from somewhere near the Southern California/Mexico border! Rock star.
Those available at the signing were: Author Jason Jenkins, Michael January, Jeffrey Reddick, Andrew Divoff, Adam Marcus, Debra Sullivan, Alex Litvak, Scott Milan, Nick Principe, Luke Piotrowski, and Ben Collins.
Phantom Limbs has been a passion project for Jason Jenkins, and the amount of love the book has received so far has him already gunning for a sequel, hopefully to be released around the same time next year. We are also in discussions to bring some of these abandoned projects back to life in novel form pending we tie down all the proper rights and approvals. We already have one locked down.
phantom limb /ˈfan(t)əm'lim/ n. an often painful sensation of the presence of a limb that has been amputated.
Based on the popular Bloody Disgusting web column of the same name, Phantom Limbs takes a look at intended yet unproduced horror sequels and remakes - extensions to genre films we love, appendages to horror franchises that we adore - that were sadly lopped off before making it beyond the planning stages.
Here, writer Jason Jenkins chats with the creators of these unmade extremities to gain their unique insights into these follow-ups that never were, with the discussions standing as hopefully illuminating but undoubtedly painful reminders of what might have been.
This inaugural volume features twenty-five chapters covering such projects as:
Jigsaw's Twisted Tales by Marcus Dunstan & Patrick Melton
Hellraiser by Todd Farmer & Patrick Lussier
Hallorann by Mike Flanagan
Thirst by Mick Garris
The People Under the Stairs by F. Javier Gutierrez
The Plantation by Adam Marcus & Debra Sullivan
Resident Evil by Alan B. McElroy
Texas Chainsaw II by Scott Milam
The Hitcher by Jeffrey Reddick
Zero.Dark.Thirty by Stephen Susco
and many more!
The SRS Cinema Collection: Motorboat, House Shark, House Squatch, She Kills, Amityville Death Toilet
By Brian G. Berry
US: Mass Market Paperback
International Links are at the bottom of each book listing.
Our new SRS Cinema Collection is shaping up to be a collection of quick and fun reads, spearheaded by Brian G. Berry. There may be a couple other authors getting involved as we move along as well. These are Special Editions of the SRS Novelizations that have been self-published by the author, and we’ve added forewords by the filmmakers, photo galleries, and of course, we’ve used the original incredible poster art.
This is a series we hope continues to grow and so far the response has been fantastic. Thanks to all of you who’ve grabbed the entire set!
NEWS
We are gearing up for another round of announcements in the coming weeks. There are three novelizations almost ready to go and press releases will be staggering out very soon.
One project we are gearing up and want to let you know about is in the preliminary stages, and is a project slated for Summer 2025. We are calling it the “Summer of Sidaris” and the ink is barely dry but we are moving full ahead to plan it.
Here’s what I can tell you: Encyclopocalypse will be novelizing all twelve of what’s known as the “Triple B Series” (Bullets, Bombs, and Babes, naturally) by legendary filmmaker Andy Sidaris. We’ll be announcing all of the titles and their respective authors as soon as we nail that down.
Our plan is to release these in chronological order beginning with Malibu Express and Hard Ticket to Hawaii. Each book will be written by a different favorite genre author, I’ve been very intentional to make sure these authors are fans of the films and this genre. In fact, I spent the weekend mapping out all character connections throughout the films, and planning a sort of “Sidaris Bible” for all authors involved.
Be on the lookout for a pre-order of the ENTIRE collection this summer, that will feature limited bonus items to help you kick off your summer in 2025. This is going to be a lot of fun, and we can’t wait to take you all for a ride.

We have set up a portal page for Press and Reviewers. If you are either of those, please feel free to sign up. There are so many services to use, but they’re all scattered all over the web. We are trying to keep all communication and announcements in-house as much as possible. This is exclusive to those with dedicated websites, podcasts, YouTube channels and print magazines.
